Cutting is just a way of life at the Wood Ranch.

While Kobie trains & shows in the Open,  Paula shows in the Non Pro.  Their daughters Lane & Marley are following the family tradition of showing cutters. Lane & Playboys Plowboy brought home their 1st buckle in 2002.  Marley is just about ready to try her skills in the cutting arena.

&       No. 4 ALL-TIME NCHA Money Earner with $3.4 million

Kobie has been a NCHA World Champion 5 times.   Kobie showed the  stallion "Cash Quixote Rio", claiming  the NCHA World Championship in 1990 & 1992.  "Cash Quixote Rio" is the highest NCHA World Champion money earner, with his win in 1990, winning  $121,731.69.   Kobie also showed, "Meradas Little Sue" to win the NCHA World Champion Title 3 more times, in 1995, 1997 & 1999. The only other rider to achieve 5 NCHA World Championship Titles is Matlock Rose.

Kobie's mounts also have won eight NCHA Novice World Championship Titles. He also won the 1992 NCHA National Work-offs Open on "Cash Quixote Rio" and in 1991 on "Chicks Playboy" and the $3,000 Novice in 1992 on "Play Like A Lena" and in 1991 on "Boon Bars Gold".

Paula is a tough competitor in the Non Pro cutting show ring, too!  In 1993, Paula rode "Smart War Lena" to the NCHA Non Pro Worlds Championship and she also has claimed several NCHA Aged Event Titles.
